Resource center for perfecting of professional work with young people

Throughout M-Centre we provide support and additional training for professionals working with young people. The Centre also provides information for working with young people plus collects and analyzes evidences.

Logical frame of our work implies that affect on young men to change their behavior isn’t achieved only through working with young men, but in order to feel acceptance of positive changes which they get in Be a man clubs, it is necessary to continuously work in building cooperation of persons and institutions that are working with young people, raise public  awareness about importance of support and positive role models to young people; and stressing out when making strategies and plans of actions what are specialties that are present when working with young men and potential that is has.

We work with police in order to implement together prevention workshops in primary schools, for now 30 schools. Those are thousands of pupils. We prepared education for police officers who are conducing this program, trough out expert seminar based on Young Men Initiative program, which we implemented in cooperation with around 10 organizations in region (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo) and the world (USA, Brazil, North Ireland).

In cooperation with organizations and clubs for young people, we develop models of working in community. That is how we started Be a man club in Kozari putevi. It is about young men that are passing workshops and after that they work in community on prevention of violence by themselves.

Each step of our work we evaluate in cooperation with science institutions (International centre for research of women Washington, Institute for Social Research in Zagreb) and for several times until now we proved that our interventions really accomplish great results. Results of evaluation of our work was presented at the conference in MZOS, Masks and masculinity, in which participated 60 schools, 3 ministries, 5 embassies and many other guests.

Through our resource center we are:

  • Connecting stakeholders for working with young people
  • Conducting researches about working with young people and about young people
  • Making new tools for working with young people, especially educating methodology and campaign
  • Assuring standardization and maintain quality of work of organization in all levels

Gender transformative approach

Encouraging young people to analyze social constructs related to gender roles, understanding how wrong relations are harming individuals and change relations in society with the goal of achieving equality.

Including men and young men in achieving society based on equality

Status M has been recognized as an organization that works with young men on building society through the analysis of masculinity and the promotion of positive forms of masculinity.

Education of life skills

Practicing with young people the skills needed for successful youth and dealing with potentially harmful situations while growing up with a positive outcome.
